Meet our team at East West Pediatrics! Please take a few moments to learn about our skilled practitioners and our friendly, nurturing staff.
At East West Pediatrics, we consider it both a great joy and responsibility to care for children. Most of us are parents ourselves, so we strive to be understanding and available to the families we are privileged to serve. We are honored that you have chosen us as your child's primary medical provider and are confident that you will be pleased with the quality of care and service that we can provide you and your family.
Your child's health is as important to us as it is to you. We look forward to providing you with excellent medical care your child deserves.
Dr. Shaikh was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing in Anne Arundel County since 2002. She did her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University and then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/DuPont Children's Hospital. She currently has privileges at St. Agnes Hospital, Harbor Hospital, and Sinai Hospital.
Ms. Habersaat received both her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Science degrees at The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She brings a warm and enthusiastic presence to our office along with her extensive knowledge of pediatric care. In addition to her general pediatric education, she has also had training and experience in the field of child psychiatry and will be able to provide invaluable help to families of our practice who have children suffering from a variety of mental health and behavioral issues.
In addition to her role as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Christine Habersaat is an international board certified lactation consultant (also known as an IBCLC). IBCLCs are trained in the clinical management of breastfeeding and certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLE). Certification is recognition that a professional has met eligibility requirements and has passed a rigorous exam that evaluates knowledge in breastfeeding management.
If you are a new parent wishing to receive lactation assistance for your newborn at their first visit, please notify us at the time you schedule so we may allocate appropriate time to address your concerns.'
